Silk bedding general washing information

All our silk bedding is machine washable at 30deg C on a silk or wool wash cycle.

The most important factor when washing anything silk is that only a specialist washing agent is used - one that says that it is suitable for silk on the bottle or box. We recommend and sell Tenestar, which is not cheap but which gives far better results than other proprietory agents that we have tried.

All our silk bedding can be tumble dried providing you are able to stop the drying cycle before the item is thoroughly dry and some residual dampness remains.

Silk should never be dry cleaned or washed using regular detergents (even non-biological detergents) as these will damage the silk fibres and result in a harder feel afterwards and significantly reduce the life of the item.

Silk Pillow Cases Silk Pillow Cases
Silk pillow cases are widely acknowledged to be kinder to your skin and hair than cotton pillow cases. Our range of pure silk pillow cases are made from sandwashed habotai silk which gives a peachskin softness for your face.

Also in this section are the pillow cases faced with dupion silk and a dobby check design to match the duvet covers, although these can of course be purchased on their own.

The complete range of sizes of pillow cases is available in Soft Ivory (Natural) colour to co-ordinate with the sheets and duvet covers.

Pairs of standard size Oxford style pillow cases (29"x19"+2") are usually available in a selection of colours.
Silk Sheets Silk Sheets
Our sheets are made with a 100% silk fuji fabric which has been sandwashed to give a luxuriously soft 'peach' handle. All bed sheets are made using wide width fabric which means that there are no seams in the larger sizes. The fuji fabric that we use has a weight of 23 momie - momie is the measurement of weight of silk fabrics - which makes it extremely durable.

Silk sheets are stocked only in a Soft Ivory (Natural) colour that will co-ordinate with most other colours for best versatility in your bedroom.
100% silk duvet covers 100% silk duvet covers
We have three design options for the upper, visible side of our 100% silk duvet covers. In each case the underside is the soft sandwashed habotai that is used in our pillow cases, and when combined with a silk sheet you will have the same soft luxurious feel of silk both above and below you!

The options for the upper side are -
100% silk sandwashed habotai - the same as the underside for a plain, modern appearance
100% silk dupion - this is a slub or shot silk which gives a delicate surface texture
100% silk dobby check - a 2.5cm (1") check design that looks really spectaular because of the lustre of silk.

All items are only available in Natural (Soft Ivory) colour.
